“Calli” has multiple meaning - for us it’s building a house of education, not physically but in the minds of our children. We do this by reintroducing images our ancestors created many moons ago. While some are edited and updated we do this with the intention of preserving as much as possible the original design with its intent of communication and education. Calliwear for us speaks to our struggle as a people to live in the present, often times between two worlds, and at the same time seeking out and honoring our indigenous roots, our ancestors and those to come.
